Job summary

Kempston Academy in Bedford is seeking a dedicated Facilities Assistant to support the Facilities Manager in maintaining the school’s buildings and grounds, and to carry out repairs as required.

Hours are 37 per week, 52 weeks per year, with pay on the Level 3 scale (points 6–8). The appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance of school facilities
• Ability to perform electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs
• Reliable safeguarding practices and ability to work as a key holder

Responsibilities

• Assist the Facilities Manager in maintaining the school’s buildings and grounds
• Carry out electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other general repairs as required
• Support site security procedures including alarm systems and locking/unlocking premises
• Participate in DBS checking process and references as part of safeguarding requirements
