Job summary

St. Andrew’s School in Rochester seeks an organized Domestic Supervisor (Housekeeper) to lead the Domestic Assistants across the Main School and Pre-School. This part-time role (30 hours per week, term-time with end-of-August deep clean) supports a clean, safe, welcoming environment for pupils and staff.

Reporting to the School Business Manager, you’ll coordinate rotas, monitor standards, manage stock and ensure COSHH and health & safety compliance, while fostering a proactive team culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic/cleaning supervision.
• Experience in a school environment is an advantage.
• Organised, self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines.
• Flexible, good problem-solving and adaptability.
• Strong communicator and team player.
• Understanding of health & safety and COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Lead Domestic Assistants and organise daily workloads.
• Monitor cleaning standards and address issues.
• Manage rotas to cover events and term-time schedules.
• Monitor stock levels and liaise with suppliers.
• Ensure COSHH registers, risk assessments and training compliance.
• Ensure equipment safe use and ongoing training.
