Job summary

St. Andrew's School in Rochester is seeking a part-time Domestic Supervisor to lead the Domestic Assistants and sustain high standards of cleanliness across the Main School and Pre-School.

The successful candidate will supervise daily operations and coordinate rotas to fit school events. This role is 30 hours per week during term time, with two additional weeks at the end of August for a deep clean and extra duties during Holiday Club periods (roughly 16–20 days a year).

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of commercial cleaning requirements.
• Experience in a similar role; school experience preferred.
• Organised, self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines.
• Flexible, problem-solving, adaptable to changing priorities.
• Friendly, approachable and good communicator.
• Supervisor experience desirable and COSHH/health & safety emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting the Domestic Assistants, including organising daily workloads and cleaning schedules.
• Monitoring cleaning standards across the Main School and Pre-School and addressing issues promptly.
• Managing cleaning rotas to meet the needs of the School, including events and deep cleans.
• Monitoring cleaning stock levels, placing orders and working with suppliers for value for money.
• Managing COSHH arrangements including registers, risk assessments and monthly checks.
• Ensuring equipment and cleaning products are used safely and staff stay trained and compliant.
