Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) seeks a reliable school cleaner to maintain hygiene across educational premises. You will be responsible for floor cleaning, carpet care, toilet and shower areas, and general dusting.

Training in health and safety requirements including COSHH will be provided as part of your role. You must meet essential criteria and demonstrate experience or aptitude in cleaning methods, use of cleaning machinery, and teamwork within a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills in English.
• Good organisation and planning abilities.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexible approach and willing to carry out instruction.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, suction clean, mop, dry buff, spray clean, spray wax, machine scrub and dry, strip and re-polish floors using appropriate equipment.
• Clean and remove stains from carpets/matting.
• Clean toilet and shower areas and fixtures.
• Dust and clean ledges, walls and fixtures up to 3.35m; polish furniture as appropriate.
• Empty and clean litter bins and remove litter to designated points.
