Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a School Cleaner to undertake cleaning duties across school premises as part of a team. You will be responsible for floors, toilets, walls and fixtures, maintaining hygiene standards in line with Health and Safety regulations.

They require initiative, reliability, and the ability to work under pressure. Training and induction are provided; adherence to COSHH and safety guidelines is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a School Cleaner, or similar cleaning role.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and machinery used in school environments.
• Understanding of Health and Safety requirements relevant to cleaning roles, including COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, mop and dry buff floors using appropriate equipment.
• Clean toilets and shower areas, including fixtures and fittings.
• Dust and clean internal surfaces up to 3.35 m, polishing furniture where appropriate.
• Empty litter bins and maintain designated collection points.
• Follow Health and Safety, COSHH, and other relevant regulations in all duties.
