Job summary

The Supply Register is seeking dedicated School Cleaners to join Nottingham school teams, offering a term-time, part-time role from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday in Nottingham.

You will help maintain a safe, clean learning environment, with DBS check required and two references; competitive pay paid weekly through PAYE.

Qualifications

• DBS check required (enhanced)
• Two professional references covering last 24 months
• Experience in cleaning in schools or commercial settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, dust, mop and polish designated areas
• Clean and sanitize washrooms, kitchens and communal spaces
• Safely handle, store and use cleaning chemicals in line with health and safety rules
• Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish responsibly
• Report maintenance issues or hazards to school staff
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and COSHH regulations
• Perform duties as directed by Premises Manager or School Leadership

Responsibilities & Duties

• Undertake cleaning duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, mopping, and polishing in designated classrooms, corridors, and communal areas.


• Clean and sanitize washrooms, toilets, and kitchen facilities to high hygiene standards.


• Safely handle, use, and store cleaning equipment and chemical products in compliance with health and safety regulations.


• Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish correctly and responsibly.


• Report any maintenance issues, repairs, or hazards immediately to the appropriate school personnel.


• Ensure compliance with health and safety, hygiene, and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations at all times.


• Undertake such duties as may be considered appropriate by the Premises Manager or School Leadership in line with the needs of the service.

Requirements

• Must have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.


• Must be able to provide two professional references which cover the last 24 months of work/study periods.


• Previous cleaning or caretaker experience within a school or commercial setting is ideal, though a strong work ethic and attention to detail are most important.
