Academics is recruiting a School Cleaner in Worksop to support local schools. This temporary, ongoing role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of school premises, with immediate start and PAYE payment including holiday pay.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices and communal areas, following safety guidelines and COSHH. A DBS check and safeguarding training are required or expected to be completed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months cleaning experience, ideally in schools.
• COSH training to handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to provide references for last 24 months of employment.
• Safeguarding training up-to-date or willingness to complete.

Academics is a specialist education recruitment agency and we are looking for a School Cleaner in Worksop to join our team supporting a variety of local schools

This temporary position offers the opportunity to support local schools by maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the school premises

Position: School Cleaner in Worksop

Contract: Temp, Flexible, Ongoing

Pay: £14.24 to £15.00 per hour (including holiday pay, paid via PAYE and dependent on experience)

The Role

A School Cleaner in Worksop will be responsible for the cleanliness and hygiene of the school premises

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning duties throughout the school, including classrooms, corridors, offices, communal areas, and other designated spaces.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, and dust floors and surfaces as required.
• Dispose of waste safely and appropriately.
• Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies when necessary.
• Follow school cleaning procedures, health and safety requirements, and COSHH guidelines.
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or damage to the appropriate member of staff.
• Use cleaning equipment and products safely and responsibly.
• Maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across the school premises.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months cleaning experience, ideally within a school setting
• Relevant training in the use of cleaning chemicals and health and safety (COSH Training)
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to provide references covering the last 24 months of employment
• School Cleaner applicants should either possess or be willing to complete up-to-date safeguarding training
