Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is recruiting School Catering Assistants in Nottingham for term-time work, with a 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM schedule, Monday to Friday. This role fits around existing commitments and supports school dining operations.

Candidates should have an enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to apply, plus two recent references. Prior kitchen or cafe experience is beneficial for this hands-on posting.

Qualifications

• Must have enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply.
• Provide two professional references covering the last 24 months.
• Some kitchen, catering or cafe experience is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation, setting up and serving per hygiene rules.
• Clean kitchen equipment and dining furniture as required.
• Move and set up dining furniture in designated areas.
• Assist with cashier duties and operate a cash register.
• Comply with health and safety, food hygiene and COSHH regulations.

• Perform additional duties as directed by the School Catering Manager.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Assist with the preparation, setting up, and serving of meals in line with food hygiene regulations
• Clean kitchen equipment and dining furniture as required in designated areas.
• Assist with the moving and setting up of dining furniture in designated areas.
• Undertake shared responsibility for cashier duties and be responsible for operating a cash register.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, food hygiene, and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations at all times.
• Support the team in promoting equal opportunities in the workplace and delivering services which are accessible and appropriate to the diverse needs of service users.
• Undertake such duties as may be considered appropriate by the School Catering Manager in line with the needs of the service.
