Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a Catering Manager to oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, lead a catering team, and ensure safe, nutritious meals for children, young people and staff. The role involves menu planning, portion control, dietary accommodations, and maintaining allergen matrices.

The successful candidate will manage deliveries, stock, and meals transport, ensure regulatory compliance, and actively promote the service to boost uptake through schools and families.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations.
• Experience with special diets and allergens (IDDSI).
• Willingness to undertake job-related training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise catering team to deliver high-quality meals for children, pupils, and staff.
• Organise and supervise all aspects of food service, including service points and transport of meals.
• Manage kitchen operations, stock, ordering, and wastage to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Ensure allergen information and matrix are up to date and meals meet dietary requirements.
• Promote catering services to parents, principals, pupils, and customers to increase uptake.
• Lead risk assessments including Fire Risk Assessment and incident reporting.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, safety, and hygiene standards (COSHH, Natasha's Law).
• Coordinate with regional operations and handle feedback and complaints.
