Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a Mobile Cook Manager to oversee school kitchen operations in the Derby area. The role includes managing food and beverage operations, budgeting, and leading a kitchen team. You will travel between sites as required and enjoy a supportive, development-focused workplace.

The position emphasizes health and safety, practical cooking on a large scale, and mentoring staff. Driving to various sites and term-time patterns are involved, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required for this position and own vehicle; travel to different site may be required.
• Experience cooking for large groups (100–1300 students).
• Experience following recipes in a similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage replenishment of food and dismantling of work areas after service.
• Develop, mentor, train and inspire the kitchen team.
• Control catering operation, including labour, food and stock costs.
• Manage and optimise costs under your control.
• Ensure uniform food and service standards for staff, visitors and students.
• Create and develop menus.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure standards are followed.
