Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Mobile Cook Manager to cover the Kent area, including South East London, Medway, Maidstone, Tonbridge and Ashford. You will oversee all food and beverage operations and the finances of the school kitchen, ensuring top quality food and service with healthy team leadership.

You will manage menus, mentor staff, control costs, and ensure safety standards while working a structured schedule with public holidays off.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required and own vehicle preferred for daily travel.
• Experience cooking on a large scale (100–1300+ students).
• Experience following recipes, possibly in a similar setting.
• Previous staff supervision or line management experience.
• Experience working with fresh produce and ingredients.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and food handling.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a busy kitchen.
• Professional and positive leadership; leading by example.

Responsibilities

• Manage replenishment of food and dismantling of work areas at end of service.
• Develop, mentor, conduct training, and inspire the kitchen team.
• Control catering operation costs including labour, food and stock.
• Manage and optimize costs under your control.
• Ensure consistent food and service standards for staff, visitors, and students.
• Oversee creation and development of menus.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure standards are followed.
