Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd invites applications for a General Assistant at our Glastonbury location. This role supports everyday catering operations in a fast-paced environment during term time, with 20–30 hours per week across a 38-week contract.

You will assist with serving, food prep, stock replenishment, and maintaining high hygiene standards while providing excellent customer service and flexibility for events.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced catering environment preferred.
• Team player with strong customer service orientation.
• Willing to work evenings and weekends for events.

Responsibilities

• To support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, cleaning.
• Prepare all service areas for the day’s business relating to that meal service.
• Prepare, set-up, serve, clear, clean and store away any food, beverage or equipment for functions.
• Prepare basic food for sale/service, following hygiene and safety standards.
• Restock and replenish stocks during service and assist customers.
• Dispose of rubbish and recycle materials correctly.
• Occasionally work evenings and/or weekends for events.
• Ensure food standards and wastage controls are followed.
