Job summary

Thomas Franks is seeking a General Assistant at our Somerset location. The role is a 38-week term-time contract with 20–40 hours per week, in a fast-paced catering environment.

You will help with serving, food preparation, and maintaining hygiene standards while supporting a great team. This position offers benefits including free meals on duty and opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced catering environment.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Good verbal and written English.
• Food hygiene knowledge or certificate preferred.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends for functions.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, cleaning.
• Prepare service areas for the day’s meals.
• Prepare, set-up, serve, clear, clean and store away food, beverages or equipment for events.
• Prepare basic food following hygiene and safety practices.
• Restock and replenish stocks during service and anticipate customer needs.
• Dispose of rubbish and recycle correctly.
• Occasionally work evenings and/or weekends for functions and events.
• Ensure food standards are followed and wastage is controlled.
• Follow food hygiene and health & safety policies and allergen control procedures.
