Job summary

Thomas Franks in Glastonbury, Somerset, is seeking a General Assistant for its on-site catering operation serving breakfast, lunch and supper. This is a 52-week contract with weekend and evening duties for events, set in a campus-style environment with excellent facilities.

You will join a friendly, fast-paced team delivering high standards of food and service across all meal periods, while maintaining hygiene, safety and allergen controls in line with company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced catering environment preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and deliver excellent customer service.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for functions or events.
• Commitment to food hygiene and health & safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, cleaning.
• Prepare service areas for daily meals.
• Set up, serve, clear, clean and store food, beverages or equipment for functions.
• Prepare basic food following hygiene standards.
• Restock stocks and consumables during service to ensure optimal service.
• Handle rubbish and recycling correctly and safely.
• Occasionally work evenings/weekends for functions and events.
• Ensure food standards and wastage controls are followed.
