Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd is seeking a General Assistant at our Somerset location to support catering during term time, working 38 weeks per year with additional hours possible outside term time.

You will join a fast-paced team delivering breakfast, lunch and supper to pupils, with duties ranging from serving to stock replenishment and cleaning. The role offers a friendly team and opportunities for development within a leading independent contract caterer.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification required.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Experience in fast-paced catering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks and cleaning.
• Prepare service areas for meals.
• Prepare, set-up, serve, clear, clean and store away food, beverage or equipment for functions.
• Prepare basic food for sale/service following hygiene and safety practices.
• Restock during service periods to meet customer needs and ensure good service.
• Empty and dispose of rubbish/recycle in the correct place.
• Occasionally work evenings and/or weekends for functions and school events.
• Adhere to food standards and manage wastage.
• Follow Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen controls.
