Job summary

New Directions Education is recruiting School Caretakers to cover temporary roles in primary and secondary schools in the UK. Roles are long and short-term, with shifts typically 7am–11am and 3pm–6pm for primary, or 8am–4pm/10am–6pm for secondary, possibly including school holidays.

Responsibilities include site upkeep, maintenance, security, and basic cleaning. Applicants should have experience in maintenance, trades, health and safety, or construction, and must have a clear DBS either via

• Caretaking experience preferred; maintenance or security background considered.
• Clear DBS (Update Service or New Directions DBS) required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
