Job summary

St John Fisher Catholic College is seeking a motivated and proactive School Caretaker who will maintain the safety and suitability of our buildings and grounds, while supporting the safe transport of our learners. You will perform caretaking and maintenance tasks, carry out minor repairs, manage waste, and assist with opening and closing during holidays and events.

A full, valid UK driving licence with minibus entitlement is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work unsupervised, be adaptable, proactive and flexible.
• Strong work ethic and ability to carry out daily maintenance tasks.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Full, valid UK driving licence with entitlement to drive the school minibus.
• Sense of humour and a can-do attitude to maintain high standards.
• Take active part in the life of the school to enhance provision for our school community.
• Flexibility to facilitate opening/closing during school holidays, events and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Caretaking and maintenance tasks to keep buildings and grounds safe and secure.
• Carry out portage duties and waste collection/assembly.
• Support safe transport of learners including minibus driving.
• Identify hazards and take appropriate action per health and safety requirements.
• Support day-to-day operational needs of the school.
