Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking a part-time Caretaker to join our school premises team. This role offers 22.5 hours per week, working 7:00am to 11:30am, with responsibilities for maintenance, cleaning, lighting, heating and decoration of the school.

The successful candidate will also oversee health and safety, security procedures, and act as a keyholder. A driving role for the school minibus is included for servicing and authorised journeys. An Enhanced DBS is required.

Qualifications

• Experience of premises maintenance.
• Awareness of Health and Safety legislation.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads.
• Reliable and trustworthy with safeguarding commitment.
• Enhanced DBS is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the school premises (internal and external) to a high standard.
• Carry out cleaning, lighting, heating and decoration tasks.
• Implement routine and non-routine health and safety procedures.
• Carry out security procedures and act as a keyholder.
• Drive the school minibus for servicing, appointments and journeys.
