Job summary

College Road Primary School is seeking a reliable caretaker to join our facilities team. The role involves building maintenance, basic DIY, cleaning, and supporting safeguarding and safety compliance with a flexible approach.

You will work with contractors, supervise small teams, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for children and families. The job may require occasional out-of-hours work and physical tasks such as lifting and high-level work with appropriate equipment.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools (desirable but not essential).
• Health and Safety courses or qualifications.
• Relevant trade qualifications (desirable but not essential).
• Caretaking (or comparable role).
• Building maintenance.
• Security, including alarm systems.
• Cleaning work.
• Some DIY such as decorating, carpentry or basic plumbing.
• Working in a team.
• Supervising a small team of staff.
• Working with contractors.
