Job summary

Reed Education are partnering with schools to recruit a Caretaker to join their Premises team on a temporary or permanent basis. This is a full-time, all-year-round role with hours on a rota basis, located in Sussex.

The role involves caretaking, building and grounds maintenance, safety checks, locking up and securing the site, general repairs and assisting with events. An Enhanced DBS is required and background checks will be undertaken prior to consideration.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar role is essential.
• Prepared to work full time on a shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Lock up and unlock as required.
• Mow and strim school lawns.
• Maintain school pitches.
• General maintenance around the school.
• Secure entrances/exits and operate security alarm/CCTV.
• Check perimeter fence and report breaches.
• Site checks and records keeping.
• Operate and check building services.
• Move and set up furniture for events and classrooms.
• Assist with receipts, distribution, and despatch of goods.
• Undertake emergency cleaning duties.
