Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a School Caretaker at Springwell Community College in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The role is permanent and full-time with 25 hours per week at an hourly rate of £13.31. The successful candidate will maintain school premises, support safety checks, and assist with event setup.

Applicants should have caretaking experience preferred, a professional attitude, and the ability to work independently or with a team. DBS checks and safeguarding commitments are required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all required training and follow Mitie's policies.
• Maintain equipment in clean, safe order and understand cleaning materials.
• Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety of school premises and grounds.
• Respond to helpdesk jobs, unlock/lock buildings, and carry out porterage and room setups.
• Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use.

We're looking for a School Caretaker who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and adhering to cleaning schedules.
Hourly Rate of Pay: £13.31
Position Type: Permanent

Total Weekly Contractual Hours: 25 hours
Location: Springwell Community College, Middlecroft Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England S43 3NQ

Role Responsibilities:

• Undertake all required training and follow Mitie's Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies.
• Maintain equipment in clean, safe working order and understand all cleaning materials and chemicals used.
• Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety of school premises and grounds.
• Respond to helpdesk jobs, unlock/lock buildings, and carry out porterage and room setups.
• Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use.
