Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Senior School Caretaker to be based at Strathearn Community Campus in Perth & Kinross. You will lead the janitorial team, organise workloads, and ensure reliable service delivery in line with contract requirements.

The role demands proven supervision experience, a flexible approach, and strong health and safety awareness. Permanent, full-time position, 37 hours per week, paying £13.61 per hour, with enhanced DBS checks and customer-focused responsibilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage the Janitorial Team and ensure duties are carried out per contract.

• Deliver services within budget and to required standards.
• Develop client and customer relationships with senior site staff and MITIE portfolio.
• Follow health, safety and quality procedures and manage on-site sub-contractors.
• Complete the training matrix specific to this role.

We're looking for a Senior School Caretaker who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and adhering to cleaning schedules.

Contract: Perth & Kinross
Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 Hours per week
Pay: £13.61 per Hour
Location: Strathearn Community Campus

Role Responsibilities:

• To manage the Janitorial Team, ensuring that they carry out their duties effectively and efficiently in accordance with contractual requirements.
• To arrange and organise the work of the Janitorial Team, identifying priorities in the work programme and organising workloads to ensure that adequate staffing resources are available at the location during the contractual periods.
• To deliver the agreed services within the budget allocated to their role and to the standard required.
• To develop good Client and Customer relationships as well as key communications with other Senior Janitors/Senior Caretakers/Senior Site Support Officers or Senior Site Superintendents on the Contract and within the MITIE's Portfolio.
• To follow the Company's Health, Safety and Quality procedures within the course of the role and when dealing with the management of assigned sub-contractors when on site.
• To undertake successfully the training matrix specific to this role.

• Must be able to complete an Enhanced Disclosure in line with the Contract requirements.
• Proven experience of staff supervision.
• Experience of working within a janitorial or similar operational environment would be desirable.
• Must fall into the required shift pattern as deemed suitable to meet Contractual requirements.
• Have a flexible approach to the role.

• The ability to prioritise workload effectively, with good organisational skills.
