Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in Edinburgh seeks a School Caretaker to deliver high service standards, follow policies, and meet cleaning schedules as a permanent, full-time employee.

The role covers responding to helpdesk requests, maintenance tasks, and after-hours building support, with shifts from early morning to evening at AXIOM Education - Craigroyston High School.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking experience (preferred but not essential).
• Reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Open, honest, self-driven, and determined.
• Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality, with willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all required training and follow Mitie's Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies.
• Maintain equipment in clean, safe working order and understand all cleaning materials and chemicals used.
• Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety of school premises and grounds.
• Respond to helpdesk jobs, unlock/lock buildings, and carry out porterage and room setups.
• Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use.

We're looking for a School Caretaker who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and adhering to cleaning schedules.

Hourly Rate of Pay: £14.70
Contract Type: Permanent
Type of Employment: Full Time
Total Weekly Contractual Hours: 37.5
Shift Description: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm/ 8:00 am to 4:00 pm/ 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Location: AXIOM Education - Craigroyston High School, 67 Pennywell Road, Edinburgh, Scotland EH4 4NL
