Job summary

The Education Authority is seeking a Catering Assistant to actively participate in the daily operation of the Catering Unit under the direction of the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor. The role emphasizes teamwork to provide a hygienic service and to promote meals to pupils and staff.

Responsibilities include basic food preparation, simple cooking, serving meals, maintaining dining areas, recording temperatures, and complying with regulations in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages, including preparation of vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking, including reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks including transported meals.
• Assisting with promotion of meals to pupils, parents and principal.
• Maintaining regular contact with the central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Preparing the dining area and setting tables and serving points.
• Completing general kitchen and dining room duties including washing up and clearing away.
