Job Description:

We are seeking Scaffolding Design Engineers and Senior Scaffolding Design Engineers to join a specialist engineering consultancy where you will collaborate with talented professionals on impactful projects.

You will be involved in creating concept designs and calculations for various projects, supported by a passionate team dedicated to your growth. The role offers technical training and mentorship towards ICE and IStructE membership for chartered status.

Positions are based in the London office (Kings Cross), with seniority determined by experience.

As a Scaffolding Design Engineer, your responsibilities include generating concept ideas, performing design calculations, creating CAD drawings, conducting risk assessments, visiting sites, and mentoring junior staff. You should be proactive, able to manage projects independently, and communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Qualifications include:

• Proficiency in tube and fittings, system scaffolds, and basic engineering principles (experience in steel and timber design is a plus).
• Ability to design complex structures such as truss-out scaffolds, mono-pitched roofs, duo-pitched roofs, and temporary buildings.
• Experience in value engineering and understanding economic impacts on project costs.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with team and clients.
• Ability to mentor graduate engineers.

For Senior Scaffolding Design Engineers, additional skills include:

• Developing the London office client base.
• Setting goals, managing staff performance, and planning project feasibility based on market demand.

Familiarity with frame analysis and modelling software is advantageous.
