Job summary

National Highways is recruiting a Compliance Lead within the Security Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) function to strengthen security compliance across Digital Services and the wider organisation. This hybrid role requires two days in the office per week and can be based at any National Highways office location in the UK, with some travel.

The successful candidate will hold or be willing to obtain SC clearance and will have five years of UK residency for vetting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams or workstreams within security governance, risk, compliance, audit or assurance.
• Experience leading or supporting security audits, risk assessments and assurance reviews.
• Strong understanding of cyber and information security principles.
• Strong analytical and communication skills to explain risks to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of UK public sector security and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Compliance workstream, providing direction and oversight.
• Oversee security compliance assessments, audits and assurance reviews.
• Provide specialist advice on obligations, controls and gaps to programmes and projects.
• Develop reporting on the compliance posture, highlighting trends and recommendations.
• Drive remediation of gaps with owners and leadership, tracking actions to completion.
