Job summary

National Highways is recruiting a Compliance Lead within our Security Governance, Risk and Compliance function to strengthen security compliance capability across digital services and the wider organisation.

You will lead the Compliance workstream, providing expert advice on regulatory requirements, driving remediation of gaps and reporting on the organisation's security posture to senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams or workstreams within security governance, risk, compliance, audit or assurance.
• Experience leading or supporting security audits, risk assessments and assurance reviews.
• Strong understanding of cyber and information security principles in a multi-supplier environment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills to explain security risks to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of UK public sector security and regulatory requirements and related frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Compliance workstream, providing direction and oversight.
• Oversee security compliance assessments, audits and assurance reviews across systems and business areas.
• Provide specialist advice on compliance obligations, control requirements and gaps to programmes and leaders.
• Develop and deliver reporting on security compliance posture, highlighting trends and recommendations.
• Drive remediation of compliance gaps with action owners and escalation when needed.
