Job summary

National Highways is recruiting a Compliance Lead within our Security Governance, Risk and Compliance function to strengthen security compliance capability across Digital Services. You will lead the compliance workstream, provide direction to GRC Analysts and drive remediation of gaps, working with senior leaders and suppliers.

You will join a newly forming capability and support embedding security compliance across programmes and BAU, with two days per week in an office anywhere in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams or workstreams within security governance, risk, compliance, audit or assurance.
• Experience leading or supporting security audits, risk assessments and assurance reviews.
• Strong understanding of cyber and information security principles with compliance knowledge.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of UK public sector security and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Compliance workstream, providing direction and oversight.
• Oversee security compliance assessments, audits and assurance reviews.
• Act as a senior SME on security compliance obligations and gaps.
• Develop and deliver reporting on the organisation's security compliance posture.
• Drive remediation of compliance gaps with owners and leaders to completion.
