Job summary

SoCode Limited is seeking an experienced SAP Compensation and Variable Pay Consultant to support an HR transformation programme in the United Kingdom. You will bring deep functional expertise in compensation processes and incentive design to deliver configuration, requirements gathering and process improvements.

You will work with HR, Reward, Payroll and IT stakeholders, oversee testing and UAT, and ensure data accuracy across downstream payroll.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as SAP Compensation or SAP SuccessFactors Compensation consultant.
• Strong understanding of compensation and incentive schemes.
• Hands-on SAP configuration, requirements gathering and design.
• Experience with HR, Reward and Payroll stakeholders.
• Knowledge of testing, defect management and implementation methodologies.
• Experience supporting complex HR systems or transformation programmes.

Contract: Initial 3 months, with a strong likelihood of a further 6-month extension

Engagement: Freelance contract

OverviewWe are looking for an experienced SAP Compensation & Variable Pay Consultant to support an ongoing HR transformation programme. The successful consultant will bring strong functional expertise across SAP compensation processes and variable pay, helping to deliver system configuration, process improvements and business requirements.

This is an initial 3-month freelance contract, with a strong likelihood of extension for a further 6 months, offering the opportunity to contribute to a longer-term programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and support SAP Compensation and Variable Pay functionality in line with business requirements.
• Work closely with HR, Reward, Payroll and IT stakeholders to understand compensation processes and translate requirements into effective SAP solutions.
• Support the design, implementation and optimisation of compensation and variable pay processes, including bonus plans, incentive schemes and reward structures.
• Gather and document functional requirements, produce solution designs and support configuration activities.
• Support system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect resolution and deployment activities.
• Ensure compensation data, eligibility rules, calculations and payment outputs are accurate and aligned with business policies.
• Collaborate with technical teams on integrations, data flows and downstream payroll processes.
• Provide functional expertise and guidance to business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Support documentation, knowledge transfer and continuous improvement of compensation processes.

Required Experience

• Proven experience as an SAP Compensation, Variable Pay or SAP SuccessFactors Compensation Consultant.
• Strong understanding of compensation and reward processes, including bonus and incentive schemes.
• Hands-on experience with SAP configuration, requirements gathering and functional solution design.
• Experience working with HR, Reward and Payroll stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of testing, defect management and implementation methodologies.
• Experience supporting complex HR systems or transformation programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and integrations with compensation functionality.
• Knowledge of SAP Payroll and downstream payroll integrations.
• Experience supporting global or multi-country compensation processes.
• Familiarity with data migration, reporting and compensation data validation.
