Job summary

PRIMA Partners is seeking an experienced SAP HCM Payroll Functional Consultant for a 12-month contract in London with hybrid working. The role focuses on hands-on SAP payroll configuration across Wage Types, Schemas, PCRs, and UK requirements.

You will translate policy into robust payroll solutions, collaborate with Finance and HR teams, review configurations, and help deliver compliant, scalable results. Some UK travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on SAP HCM Payroll configuration experience in large enterprises.
• Strong knowledge of wage types, schemas, PCRs, and payroll calculations.
• UK Payroll knowledge including HMRC requirements and statutory payments.
• Experience integrating payroll with Finance and downstream systems.
• Proven delivery of complex payroll changes from design to validation.

Responsibilities

• Configure complex SAP Payroll solutions and translate business requirements.
• Work across Wage Types, Schemas, and PCRs; ensure accurate calculations.
• Coordinate Finance integration, payslips, and payroll outputs.
• Review and challenge configurations delivered by other SAP specialists.
• Support testing, implementation, and compliant, scalable design.

SAP HCM Payroll Functional Consultant | ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Strong hands-on experience configuring SAP HCM Payroll within complex enterprise environments
• Expert knowledge of SAP Payroll Wage Types, Schemas, Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs), and payroll calculations
• Strong SAP Payroll experience across ECC6 and/or S/4HANA environments
• Proven ability to translate complex HR, Payroll, policy, and legislative requirements into SAP Payroll configuration
• Strong UK Payroll knowledge including HMRC requirements, statutory payments, and associated reporting
• Experience integrating SAP Payroll with Finance, accounting, payslips, and downstream systems
• Proven delivery of complex SAP Payroll changes across design, configuration, testing, implementation, and validation
• Strong technical-functional capability with the ability to review and challenge SAP Payroll configuration delivered by other consultants

SAP HCM Payroll Functional Consultant | DESIRED SKILLS

• Experience within large-scale SAP Payroll environments supporting significant employee populations
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Payroll and/or SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll
• Strong understanding of Payroll posting to Finance and reconciliation processes
• Experience configuring payslips, remuneration statements, and Payroll outputs
• Experience working with offshore or distributed SAP delivery teams
• Exposure to wider SAP HCM and SuccessFactors environments

SAP HCM Payroll Functional Consultant | OVERVIEW

Our client is seeking an experienced SAP HCM Payroll Functional Consultant for a 12-month contract, working remotely with occasional travel within the UK.

This is a genuinely hands-on SAP Payroll role, taking complex business, policy, and legislative requirements and translating them into robust SAP configuration. You will work across Wage Types, Schemas, PCRs, statutory and company-specific calculations, Finance integration, Payroll outputs, testing, and implementation.

We are specifically looking for an experienced SAP Payroll Consultant who has personally configured complex Payroll solutions and remains technically hands-on. You will also review and challenge configuration delivered by other SAP specialists, ensuring solutions are compliant, scalable, and correctly designed.
