Job Description

As a Sales Manager Sheet Piling UK, you will act as the primary contact for the interface between ArcelorMittal RPS Sarl and customers in the UK & Irish market regarding the Group's products. You will provide regular commercial, technical, financial, and logistical support and communication.

You will book products to the required volume and specifications to load the mills of the Long Carbon Europe (LCE) segment in line with volume budgets and pricing targets.

The job is located in Solihull.

Responsibilities

Sales Orders / Projects:
  1. Win orders (projects-based orders) on an engineered solution basis, utilizing technical advantages and service levels within the framework established for the relevant product areas.
  2. Solicit, evaluate, and make offers ensuring the most efficient solutions are offered alongside fully compliant offers as requested by the customer for known and designated projects.
  3. Follow up on offers/projects regularly to ensure full understanding of commercial and technical influences applicable to the successful booking of such order/project.
  4. Establish strong and appropriate commercial and technical supply chain arrangements with each customer, in line with the agreed development plan.
  5. Ensure contractual offers are maintained by both Customer and the mill sales.
  6. Resolve complaints and disputes via direct negotiation and liaise with mill sales to ensure an appropriate balanced/favorable solution.
  7. Report monthly to the Short Date Forecasting / Long Date Forecasting (SDF / LDF) project Meetings on all aspects of the Sales and Project Management and tracking functionality.
  8. Provide statistical and summarized sales reports as required, in addition to visit reports for each customer/project visit.
Administrative Responsibilities:
  1. Book, record, and manage offers/projects/orders within the (IT) systems in use by the company (SAP / MS Excel / MS Office / MS Teams).
  2. Fully coordinate activities of both the supply of product from the mills and UK Service Centre (Stock Business) to ensure suitable operational solutions for both mills and Customer.
  3. Ensure all debts are settled on the due date and coordinate all collections and queries related to encashment and credit control.
  4. Maintain full brief at all times on enquiries/quotations and orders received.
  5. Manage/review accuracy of pricing on offer documentation and customer's order.
  6. Coordinate in progressing of projects or where special action is required.
  7. Lead in progressing where special action is required to avoid delay in critical situations.
  8. Maintain close contact with customer's personnel and ArcelorMittal Commercial UK - Sheet Piling - Head of Agency.
  9. Manage customer credit status and ensure sufficient cover is available.

Profile, Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in the commercial area, with good working knowledge of steel making/planning/budgeting/logistics and of the relevant market sectors - with primary focus on UK Steel Sheet Piling and Civil Engineering Market.
  • Ability to build solid working relationships with customers, to establish credibility and to communicate at all levels within the company.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • High level of numeracy and accuracy.
  • Work as part of a small team, in the context of a complex international firm, with the capacity to work on own initiative.
  • Knowledge of SAP, and specifically SD knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Willingness to regularly travel to customers (UK / Ireland) and Group European offices and production sites (minimum 20% of time).
