Job summary

PSM Recruitment Ltd are seeking an experienced Sales Executive to join a growing branded merchandise business near Sevenoaks. Initially telephone-based, you will build your own customer base from a cold desk and generate leads.

As you establish your desk, expect face-to-face client meetings and field visits. You'll need to be proactive, confident on calls, and capable of converting prospects into long-term accounts, hitting sales targets.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a telesales, internal sales, business development or similar new-business role is essential.
• Experience within branded merchandise, promotional products, print, marketing or a related industry would be advantageous.

PSM Recruitment are looking for an experienced and driven Sales Executive to join a growing branded merchandise business, based near Sevenoaks.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing new business and, most importantly, taking ownership of their own sales desk.

For the first 3–6 months, the role will be primarily telephone-based. You will be responsible for building your own customer base from a cold desk, identifying potential target companies, generating your own leads and developing new business through proactive telesales.

This isn't a role where you'll simply be handed a list of leads and told who to call. We want someone who uses their own initiative, someone who can identify the right sectors and businesses to target, understands what will be valuable to the company and takes responsibility for building their own pipeline.

Once you have established your desk and demonstrated your ability to develop strong customer relationships, the role will progress to include face-to-face client meetings, visiting customers and developing accounts out on the road.

We're looking for someone who has previous experience in a similar proactive sales role, particularly someone who is comfortable with cold calling, lead generation and developing business from scratch.

You’ll need to be:

• Confident and professional on the telephone.
• Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls.
• Self-motivated and driven to achieve results.
• Naturally proactive and able to work without being spoon-fed leads.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to identify good sales opportunities.
• Excellent at building and maintaining relationships.
• Persistent and resilient when dealing with cold prospects.
• Organised and able to manage your own pipeline and workload.
• Confident negotiating and closing business.
• Someone who takes pride in developing long-term customer relationships, rather than simply chasing one-off sales.
• A team player who can also work independently and take responsibility for their own results.

Previous experience in a telesales, internal sales, business development or similar new-business role is essential. Experience within branded merchandise, promotional products, print, marketing or a related industry would be advantageous.

Hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm

Basic salary £30- £32k pa DOE
