Vanrath has partnered with a world market leader in mechanical engineering, specializing in products across tools, engineering, and fasteners, as well as service offerings.

This Business Development Manager position is a remote role with frequent travel. The coverage includes Ireland and Scotland.

Extensive training will be provided in the UK (lasting 3-6 months depending on experience) and in Germany for 4-6 weeks. Training schedules are flexible and not full-time away.

Salary:
£50,000 guaranteed plus fixed commission for 2 years (minimum £7,500), company vehicle, and uncapped commission.

Additional benefits include a company car, equipment, pension, and a commission structure.

After 1 year, an approximate £2,000 annual bonus for holidays and Christmas.

Responsibilities:

• Winning new customers in targeted markets (Power Generation, Defence, Commercial Vehicles, Hydropower, Diesel & Gas Engines, Cranes, Construction Machines)
• Nurturing existing client relationships and developing new opportunities
• Identifying customer needs now and in the future
• Providing bolting solution support at customer sites
• Collaborating with UK sales manager to develop sales territory plans

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven success (4-10 years) in industrial sales, preferably OEM products
• Educated in mechanical engineering (apprenticeship, HND, or degree)
• Excellent communication and customer development skills
• Structured, organized work methods and ability to work from home
• Ability to visit customer sites regularly within Ireland and Scotland
• Quick relationship-building skills
• Technical knowledge retention and learning ability
• Research skills and pipeline development
