Job summary

Plumb Centre in Newmarket is seeking a Sales Assistant to help customers at the trade counter, advise on products and drive branch sales.

This full-time role involves 40 hours per week (Mon–Fri 08:00–17:00) with Saturday mornings on a rota basis; benefits include annual leave, a generous pension, bonuses, enhanced maternity/adoption leave, employee discounts, healthcare access, YuLife app, and Cycle to Work scheme.

Qualifications

• Plumbing & heating knowledge is ideal.
• Face-to-face sales and customer service experience.
• Warehouse experience.
• Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Team player who helps in all areas to ensure smooth branch running.
• Eagerness to learn with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Comfortable lifting heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• Making outbound calls to previous customers to regain their business.
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers.
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets.

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and Saturday mornings on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.
