Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is recruiting for a Sales Assistant in Newmarket. You will help customers at the trade counter, advise on products, handle phone and email inquiries, and reach out to past customers to win business. The role includes light warehouse duties and supporting branch operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers on the trade counter with product advice.
• Respond to enquiries by phone and email promptly.
• Make outbound calls to previous customers to regain business.
• Drive sales by identifying opportunities within the branch.
• Perform general warehouse duties including stock in/out and picking/packing.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations


• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude


• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business


• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers


• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and Saturday mornings on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.

Qualifications

• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal


• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience

• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service


• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
