Job summary

Jewson in Spennymoor is seeking a Part-Time Sales Advisor to join our branch team. You will deliver high-quality customer service, understand customer needs, and promote our product range while ensuring efficient order processing and stock handling.

The role includes light forklift training and adherence to health and safety standards. The position offers 26 hours per week with weekday shifts and an every other Saturday, plus opportunities to increase hours during annual leave or sickness cover.

Working Hours

Permanent, 26 hours per week

• Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
• Every other Saturday: 8:00am – 12:00pm
• Flexibility to increase working hours to cover periods of annual leave and sickness absence.
• Overtime opportunities are available, subject to business requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide a welcoming, professional service to customers, building strong relationships and understanding their needs to offer appropriate products and solutions.
• Develop and maintain a good knowledge of our product range to provide accurate advice and support.
• Process customer orders, payments, deliveries and account updates using in-house systems, keeping customers informed throughout their journey.
• Receive, check and store deliveries, reporting any missing or damaged items.
• Maintain accurate stock levels through replenishment and regular stock counts.
• Pick, pack, load and unload customer orders safely and efficiently, including manual handling and forklift operation (training provided).
• Maintain high standards of branch presentation, ensuring the shop floor, warehouse and customer areas are clean, organised and well-stocked.
• Comply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures and housekeeping standards, promoting a safe working environment for colleagues and customers.
• Support branch performance by contributing to sales, service improvements and wider business initiatives.
• Participate in ongoing training and development and undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the branch.
