Job summary

Barking & Dagenham College is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Coordinator to join our safeguarding team. The role is full-time (36 hours per week) on a permanent contract, with a salary of £35,286–£38,268 per year including London Weighting.

Reporting to the Head of Safeguarding, you will manage safeguarding referrals, provide guidance to staff, and work with external agencies to secure positive outcomes for students.

Qualifications

• Experience in safeguarding roles andPrevent duty is essential.
• Experience in education environment preferred.
• Ability to manage complex workload and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide first point of contact for safeguarding enquiries from staff, parents or professionals.
• Implement college safeguarding policy and procedures.
• Act as Safeguarding Officer and maintain a caseload of referrals.
• Initiate and refer students to outside agencies and coordinate referrals.
• Provide support and advice to staff on safeguarding per policy.
