Job summary

Barnsley College is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer to join our Safeguarding Team. This term-time, permanent post offers 37 hours per week across 37 weeks, with a focus on early intervention, safeguarding and learner support.

You will be the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns and work with learners, parents and external agencies to promote welfare and safety. The successful candidate will have Level 3 safeguarding qualification, Maths and English at A-C and demonstrable

Qualifications

• Level 3 safeguarding related qualification or equivalent.
• Maths and English at Grade A to C (or equivalent).
• Willingness to participate in and undertake further training and development.
• Experience in a substantial safeguarding role.
• Experience of making appropriate referrals to Children's and/or Adult Social Care.
• Experience of completing safeguarding risk assessments and implementing control measures.
• Experience of providing safeguarding support through early intervention, prevention and targeted support.
