Job summary

Qualifications

Designated Safeguarding Lead qualification or willingness to undertake it.
English and Maths qualifications at level 2 or above.
Experience of safeguarding role / prevent duty and responding to safeguarding issues.
Experience of working in an education environment.
Experience of complex case management.

Responsibilities

Provide a first point of contact for safeguarding enquiries from staff, parents or professionals.
Implement Barking and Dagenham College safeguarding/child protection policy and procedures.
Act as a Safeguarding Officer and maintain a caseload of safeguarding referrals.
Initiate and refer students to outside agencies and coordinate referrals.
Provide professional support, guidance, and advice to staff on safeguarding issues to ensure staff follow due process.
