Job summary

Barnet and Southgate College is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Officer for the Boreham Wood Football Academy. This term-time, part-time role focuses on safeguarding vulnerable students, leading referrals, building partnerships, and delivering staff training across campuses.

You will maintain safeguarding records, ensure compliance with KCSIE and GDPR, and act as a specialist safeguarding lead in safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Designated Safeguarding Officer training completed within the last 3 years.
• Proven experience with child protection procedures and referrals.
• Experience of multi-agency safeguarding and supporting vulnerable students.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key safeguarding knowledge source across the College.
• Lead referrals and casework in line with KCSIE and relevant guidance.
• Maintain safeguarding records and support inspection readiness.
• Lead on a specialist safeguarding area and share best practice.
• Plan and deliver safeguarding training for staff and students across campuses.
• Develop partnerships with internal teams and external agencies.
• Support statutory obligations under safeguarding legislation and guidance.
