Job summary

Derby College Group (DCG) is recruiting a Safeguarding Coordinator to join our safeguarding team at the Joseph Wright Centre. You will support vulnerable students and apprentices, ensuring safeguarding procedures are in place and complied with.

You will work with colleagues and external agencies to provide tailored support and positive outcomes. We seek a proactive, approachable candidate with strong communication and training delivery skills, knowledge of multi‑agency support, and a commitment

Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting for a Safeguarding Coordinator to join our amazing safeguarding team. We are seeking an energetic and knowledgeable safeguarding co-ordinator, to support vulnerable students and apprentices and ensure effective safeguarding procedures are in place and complied with. The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real and lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable students, helping them overcome barriers that may impact their wellbeing, progression and achievement. You’ll play a key role in coordinating tailored support, championing students’ needs and working closely with colleagues and external agencies to ensure they receive the right help at the right time. It’s a rewarding role for someone passionate about safeguarding, student welfare and creating positive outcomes, where your interventions can directly help students feel supported, empowered and able to succeed.

About you

You will be a confident and approachable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is passionate about supporting young people and improving their overall student experience. You will have a good understanding of safeguarding, Keeping Children Safe in Education and multi-agency support, alongside knowledge of Further Education and the wider issues surrounding equality, diversity and social inclusion. You will be able to build positive relationships with students, deliver effective training and presentations, and use data and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement. A proactive problem-solver, you will have the vision and commitment to make a positive difference, with a Level 4 Safeguarding qualification (or a willingness to work towards this), Level 3 education or above and Mental Health First Aid (or willingness to work towards).
