Job summary

South Eastern Regional College is looking for a full-time Technician in Electrical Installation based at Downpatrick Campus. The chosen candidate will provide essential technical support to lecturers and courses within the relevant curriculum area.

Applicants must have a Level 3 or higher apprenticeship in Electrical Installation, at least 2 years of relevant experience, and effective communication and organizational skills. The role also emphasizes knowledge of health and safety practices in a workshop setting.

Qualifications

• Level 3 or above apprenticeship in Electrical Installation with certified documentation.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Electrical Installation industry.
• Knowledge of health and safety in a workshop environment.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of School, the post-holder will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to lecturers/courses in the relevant curriculum area.

Essential Criteria

• Have completed a Level 3 or above apprenticeship in Electrical Installation with certified documentation
• Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the Electrical Installation industry
• Demonstrate knowledge of health and safety in a workshop environment
• Demonstrate effective organisational skills
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral
• Demonstrate competence in the use of Microsoft Office package.
