Job summary

East Devon District Council is seeking a Rough Sleeper Navigator to support individuals experiencing rough sleeping in securing and sustaining accommodation. The role includes proactive outreach, wrap-around support for those in temporary accommodation, and collaboration with partners to create pathways out of homelessness.

The successful candidate will use trauma-informed engagement, be highly organised, and willing to travel as required.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a trauma-informed approach.
• Ability to engage and build trust with vulnerable individuals.
• Highly organised, proactive and resilient in challenging situations.
• Willingness to travel as required under the Equality Act.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals experiencing rough sleeping to secure and sustain accommodation.
• Conduct proactive outreach and engage with people sleeping rough and in temporary housing.
• Manage a diverse caseload, assess needs, and provide tailored, person-centred support.
• Liaise with partner agencies to develop pathways away from homelessness.
