Nottingham City Council is seeking a Housing Advisor to manage housing advice casework, ensuring safeguarding and legal duties for citizens in housing need. The role involves assessing needs, preventing homelessness, and applying relevant duties under the Housing Act 1996 VII.

The position is permanent with 37 hours per week, offering hybrid working from Loxley House, Nottingham, NG2 3NG, and a starting salary of £33,673 rising to £36,581 per annum (pro-rata for part-time).

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of IT Systems including Word, Excel and PowerPoint to produce documents and the aptitude to learn new systems as required.
• Understanding homelessness and complex needs and barriers faced by rough sleepers.
• Good knowledge of homelessness legislation and ability to advise on duties owed to citizens.
• Ability to manage a complex workload under pressure and meet targets with attention to detail.
• DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required.

Responsabilités

• Promote the Council’s vision and priorities, putting citizens first through delivery of best value services.
• Housing advice casework to ensure legal and safeguarding requirements are met for citizens in housing need or crisis.
• Assess citizen need, provide housing advice, homelessness prevention, and decide homelessness duties per Housing Act 1996 VII.
