Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a Rough Sleep Support Worker to join its Rough Sleeping Service on a 3-month initial contract. You will work on-site across North Northamptonshire, providing practical, person-centred support to help rough sleepers access accommodation and stable housing.

The role involves building trust with individuals with complex needs, coordinating with housing, health, social care and voluntary partners, and carrying out needs and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Experience working with rough sleepers or vulnerable adults.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Willingness to undertake street outreach outside normal office hours.
• Ability to work on-site across North Northamptonshire, 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular street outreach across North Northamptonshire and visits to rough-sleeping hotspots.
• Identify and engage with people sleeping rough and provide timely support.
• Build positive relationships with individuals and partners to coordinate support.
• Complete needs and risk assessments, develop support plans and manage a caseload.
• Support access to accommodation, benefits, healthcare and other services.
• Maintain accurate case records and record interventions on Council systems.
• Act as an advocate and point of contact for people who are rough sleeping.
• Support the council with its rough sleeper count and SWEP arrangements.
