Job summary

Network Rail Scotland is seeking a skilled roster coordinator for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will compile and publish rosters, adapt schedules for sickness, leave, training and special arrangements, and coordinate with line managers to ensure accurate data and coverage.

You will bring strong rostering knowledge, a track record of prioritising workloads, and solid data reporting abilities. This role supports safe, efficient railway operations across Scotland and requires collaboration

Qualifications

• Essential rostering knowledge and experience.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience analysing data and producing reports.
• Understanding of conditions of service applicable to rostering.
• Familiarity with roster systems.
• Attention to detail in data management.
• Experience working in a team, including with virtual team members.

Responsibilities

• Compile and publish rosters using the corporate rostering tool.
• Prepare rosters for weekly duties, cover absences, and liaise with line managers.
• Manage short notice roster changes and respond to queries.
• Arrange rosters for medicals and interviews; plan for safety-critical expiries.
• Monitor competency data to ensure coverage of base rosters.
• Maintain competency records with the Competency Delivery Specialist.
• Gather fatigue data and report issues to the relevant manager.
• Provide information to support route and delivery unit reporting.
