Job summary

Network Rail Scotland is seeking a recent graduate to join the Town Planning and Property teams on a six-month FTC. You’ll help protect Scotland's Railway by assessing planning consultations and providing technical support, mapping and data management to ensure timely responses.

The role offers exposure to statutory consultee processes, GIS systems, and cross‑department collaboration, with opportunities to learn planning policy and contribute to delivering planning services around the rail

Qualifications

• Recent graduate seeking town planning experience.
• Ability to read elevations and cross sections.
• Good time management in a dynamic workload.

Responsibilities

• Assess, consult, and respond to town planning consultations for third-party development near the railway.
• Provide technical support to the town planning and property team, including data recording and GIS inputs.
• Prepare and submit planning notifications and respond to development plan consultations.
• Support changes required in the delivery of the Town Planning services strategy.
• Maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders to facilitate delivery of Town Planning services.
