Job summary

Humanoid is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Tech Lead to own the mechanical design of end effectors and lead the mechanical engineering team. You’ll guide mechanisms from concept through CAD, manufacturing drawings, test and production hand-off, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with electrical, firmware and prototyping teams.

This hands-on leadership role balances rapid iteration with strong engineering fundamentals in a fast-paced robotics environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
• 6+ years’ experience in mechanical design for robotics, hardware, or complex electromechanical products.
• Proven track record leading or mentoring mechanical engineers.
• Experience leading requirements development and test/evaluation planning with customers or stakeholders.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (Siemens NX) with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with 3D printing, CNC machining, injection moulding and sheet metal.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design strategy and architecture for end-effector products, setting technical direction.
• Lead design reviews and mentor mechanical engineers across the team.
• Gather and define requirements from customers and stakeholders and translate into design specs.
• Design and guide mechanical components, assemblies and enclosures end-to-end in 3D CAD, manufacturing-ready.
• Integrate cameras, sensors, PCBs and other devices into mechanical assemblies.
• Balance weight, durability, ergonomics and manufacturability requirements for each design.
• Select materials and processes including 3D printing, CNC, sheet metal and injection moulding.
• Define and lead test and evaluation plans including structural, environmental and durability tests.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles as designs move from prototype to production.
