Job summary

RAC in the United Kingdom is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and support emergency breakdowns for our members on the go. You’ll start and finish from home and operate a RAC van with full tools, fuel card, and uniform while delivering quick, confident service across your local area and beyond.

We offer a market-competitive base salary of £48,121.87 (incl. night allowance) with an average OTE of £43k–£53k, a comprehensive benefits package, and

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• You’ll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head-on and making a real impact on the roadside - combining your technical expertise with outstanding member service.
• You’ll be provided with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit to get the job done.
• You’ll be part of a team that keeps drivers moving, offering quick, confident solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Education
