Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. You’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK, starting and finishing your day at home.

You’ll work in the RAC Stockport cluster area, covering local regions, and you’ll be equipped with a van, tools, fuel card, and full uniform to help members back on the road quickly.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• You’ll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head‑on and making a real impact on the roadside.

Education
